Prague Airport - terminals

Terminal 1

intercontinental flights including flights to Great Britain. Flights to Ireland. Flights to America. Flights to Africa. Flights to the Middle East and flights to Asia.

Terminal 2

There are all flights within the Schengen agreement and other European destinations.

Terminal 3

Private or charter flights arrive at Terminal 3. Previously, this terminal was called South 2.

Terminal 4

Used for VIP flights. State visits and VIP clients arrive here. VIP departures and VIP arrivals.

There are 4 terminals at the airport. Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and Terminal 4. International and domestic flights arrive at the airport's Terminals 1 and 2. These are departures and arrivals. Private arrivals, business flights, arrivals and departures take place at Terminals 3 and 4. There are arrival and departure halls in all airport terminals. Transportation between these terminals is possible by public transport bus, taxi, minibus, microbus or mivan. Transportation by taxi or minibus is cheap. All flights (arrivals and departures) from the Schengen area (Italy, Greece, Spain, Germany, Poland...) arrive at Terminal 2. Other flights outside the Schengen area (USA, Great Britain) arrive at Prague Airport at Terminal 1. Newer the terminal is Terminal 2, but Terminal 1 at Prague Airport is also currently being repaired. At Terminal 2, they operate flights to and from EU countries. With the construction of Terminal 2 and the reconstruction of Terminal 1, Prague Airport has taken a significant step in modernizing its facilities and thus offers trouble-free transport at Prague Ruzyně Airport. It can thus offer and increase the transport capacity of Prague Airport, which is one of the main aviation hubs. Investments connected to Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 should help bring more visitors to Prague.

 

Passport control

There are 3 signs at passport control at Prague Airport:

1. NON-EU;
2. EU-ONLY;
3. EU, only for embassy staff and flight crew.

Most citizens do not need a visa to enter the country. You can also view the list of countries. Compared to other airports in EU countries, passport control is slow, especially if you are flying during peak hours. There are 12 passport controls in the terminal, but rarely are all passport controls open. It can be said that the security check at the airport in Prague is thorough. When you arrive at the second terminal, which is within the Schengen area (these are flights from/to Terminal 2), you are not subject to passport control. Many EU countries are part of the Schengen area, except Great Britain.

Prague E-GATE Airport

Prague Airport has prepared automatic passport control for passengers. The E-gate (Easy go) self-service automatic passport control device enables self-service check-in for citizens of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland. Check-in via the E-gate takes a maximum of 20 seconds. This will speed up airport passport controls. Automatic E-gate passport control is for those arriving at Terminal 1. Those arriving at Terminal 2 do not go through passport control (flights within the Schengen area).

 

EU safety rules

There are new security rules in force regarding the contents of luggage and restrictions at EU airports. If you are flying on vacation or on a business trip, pay attention to the basic safety rules. If you follow these rules, check-in at the airport will go quickly. For airport security, it is forbidden to take prohibited items on board the aircraft. If you are flying to the USA, note that the USA has new security controls. Liquids are prohibited on flights to the US. EU safety standards:

Those departing from EU countries or transiting through EU countries must respect the airport's regulations on the amount of liquids transported.

List of liquids that can be transported in hand luggage:

Water, creams, oils, sprays, perfumes, toothpastes, shampoos and shower gels. These items can only be transported individually;

Liquids that can be transported in hand luggage without restrictions;

Food and drink, medicines (we recommend having a doctor's certificate about the need for transport).
